DIY Science and Writing Workshop
“I want to thank you for your class and being so terrific with Quinnie. I was working in the other room during your last class. I could hear her chattering away at you in a way she doesn't do with her dad or me. My very first reaction was to want to apologize for her talkativeness. I am a teacher too, and I understand how distracting that can be. Yet as her little voice twittered happily on another thought struck me. During this period she has none of her own people to talk to. And although she sees her classmates over zoom, they are not given the chance to talk freely to one another. When I realized she was chatting to you as a friend, I became doubly grateful. Not only are you exposing her to one of her favorite subjects that I would be unable to do without you, you're also a friend at a terribly lonely time. For that, especially, I will be forever thankful.”
